We are a grassroots nonprofit founded by a formerly incarcerated woman for other formerly incarcerated women. We are strong advocates for women and are committed to providing programs and services that support women in their re-entry efforts from prison to community. We provide a continuum of programs that includes Pre-Release Mentoring to incarcerated women, residential services at Why Not Prosper House and community services at our Resource Center located in Philadelphia PA.Learn More About Us
A new program was recently launched called Breaking the Cycle and an article appeared in the daily news about it.
Eight women will participate in a graduation ceremony on September 13, 2014. These eight women have worked hard to get through the Why Not Prosper program and we are extremely proud of each one! We congratulate them and wish them much success and prosperity in the future!
Why Not Prosper has been blessed with the donation of a new, 16-passenger van! We will now be able to transport program participants to and from appointments and key events to help ensure their success in the program!
Our mission is to help women in the PA prison system discover their own strength by providing them with the support and resources that will empower them to become responsible, economically self-sufficient and contributing members of the community. If you are a woman who has recently been released from prison, or you know of a woman who will be soon, please know there is help available!
